Issue

Receiving renotification emails/sms when using WIN-911 Mobile and want to disable or stop notifications to email/sms after initial active alarm notification.

Cause

WIN-911 Mobile requires renotification on state changes to properly function.  When using a basic tactic with Mobile connections and SMS or Email connections, any state change will also be sent to the SMS and Email connections.

Resolution

By utilizing and Advanced Tactic with an Advanced Strategy, you can create a strategy that will only renotify Mobile Connections.  Customer must have an Advanced license.

Advanced Tactic Example:

1.  Alarm Active/Inactive (decision block) -> If the alarm is ACTIVE then proceed to green side, if INACTIVE then proceed to red side.

2.  Alarm Ack/UnAck (decision block) -> If the alarm is ACKNOWLEDGED then proceed to green side, if UNACKNOWLEDGED then proceed to red side.

3.  Notify All (notification block) -> If the alarm is ACTIVE and UNACKNOWLEDGED, then alert all connections tagged with Role Email.  An SMS Notify All block can be placed here as well or swapped, as needed.

4.  Notify All, Wait and Repeat (notification block & misc blocks) -> If the alarm is ACTIVE and UNACKNOWLEDGED, then alert all connections tagged with Role Mobile App, then wait for the specified time and repeat this notification and wait cycle the specified amount of times.

5.  Notify All (notification block) -> If the alarm is INACTIVE then alert all connections tagged with Role Mobile App.

6.  Notify All (notification block) -> If the alarm is ACTIVE and ACKNOWLEDGED, then alert all connections tagged with Role Mobile App.

Roles can be created under the Contact -> Roles tab, and are assigned individually to each connection.

Advanced Strategy Example:

1.  Initial Event -> Starts the Advanced Tactic outlined above.

2.  Any Alarm State Change -> Re-starts the Advanced Tactic outlined above, and notifies based on alarm's state.

3.  Alarm Stop Condition -> Once the alarm has been active, acknowledged, and returned to inactive the strategy will end.
