Each "Contact" can have multiple "Connections" (i.e. one Email connection and one Mobile connection).
Click on an existing contact (or add a new Contact if not adding an email connection to an existing Contact) and click "Configure Contact" then "Add New Connection" to add another connection type, an Email connection in this case.
In the connection details, enter a valid email address, select a Schedule, add Roles if desired, change Acknowledgement settings, and save the Contact.
In this Email connection example, notice the additional options for selecting different formats.
Click "Send Welcome Message" to test the Email gateway and connection settings and verify that emails can be sent successfully.
