Note: An update was pushed to WIN-911 Mobile on 07/21/2021, resolving an issue where push notifications would not be delivered on some Android devices while in Doze mode. Despite the update, you will still need to go through disabling Battery Optimization for the WIN-911 Mobile app.

1. Introduction

In many cases, we have found that certain Android devices or third-party apps, in an effort to conserve battery life, prevent WIN-911 Mobile from receiving push notifications. Push notifications alert the user of changing alarm conditions, so it is imperative WIN-911 Mobile users receive them. Unfortunately, for many devices, the only way to prevent this is manually modifying settings on the device.

Don't kill my app! is a website dedicated to providing workarounds and guides to keep apps working correctly. They have built an extensive library of guides for many devices that will walk you through making the necessary changes to disable battery optimization settings for an app.
