WIN-911 must start after Window Viewer or it will not be able to connect. In addition, if Window Viewer restarts, WIN-911 will not reconnect. Because of this, it is best to include a startup macro in Window Viewer that restarts WIN-911 as well. Doing this will allow Window Viewer and WIN-911 to always remain in sync.
We can restart WIN-911 with an executable called Restart.exe. If you run it and WIN-911 is already running, WIN-911 will restart. If you run it and WIN-911 is not already running, it will start WIN-911.
Here is how you do it..
- Start Window Maker
- From the menu bar go to Special -> Scripts -> Application Scripts
- Change the Condition Type dropdown to On Startup
- Enter the following…
- StartApp "C:\Program Files (x86)\Specter Instruments\WIN-911 V7\Tools\Restart.exe";
- Click Ok and you’re done
Note: If WIN-911 does not restart with Window Viewer after making this change, you may need to go to the Restart.exe, right-click it and select Properties, select the Compatibility tab, click 'Change settings for all users', and check the box for ‘Run this program as an administrator’.
