Decision Blocks provide users with a method of branching notifications based off of a simple question. If it meets the requirements, the logic will branch to the right, if it does not, it will branch to the left. A combination of questions and methods can be utilized in a single Tactic to reach the desired goal.

This article will delve into a potential scenario where you can utilize the Schedule Decision Block in a Tactic and Strategy with minimal configuration.

Schedule Decision Block

The Schedule Decision Block will Branch based off of the schedule you define within the block. If the alarm occurs within that defined schedule, the logic will branch right, if the alarm occurred outside of the defined schedule, it will branch left. Utilization of this Block will usually favor users who have a particular set of alarms that need to go to certain people at one point of the day, and then another set of people, at another set time. 

For example:

A specific set of alarms need to go the Clean-up Team during the day, and the plant manager, Anna, during off hours when the plant is unmanned.

The above Tactic will ask if the alarm that occurred, occurred during off hours. If did, notify Anna, if it did not, trigger the Clean-up Tactic previously created. When setting up the Strategy, the Initial Event will trigger the Schedule Block Tactic. In this example, the rest of the Strategy is user-defined, you would be able to define whatever you want to get the same behavior, but in this particular case, the water plant wants to Re-notify after the Alarm Becomes Acknowledged, and stop the strategy when the Alarm Becomes Terminal
